Design and Technology Education

The focus of the Design and Technology Education program is to integrate math, science, and technology into a variety of hands-on problem solving activities.  These activities are designed to help students to use prior knowledge, and new knowledge to produce solutions to design tasks.  Students in grades five through eight participate in a yearly rotating curriculum. Students in grades 5 & 6 take Robotics one year and Woodworking the next.  Students in grades 7 & 8 take Computer Assisted Design one year, and the following year they work in collaborative groups to participate in a variety of Design Challenges.
