John Terko, Allen Brook Principal
I have been the Principal at Allen Brook School for 10 years. I started my teaching career in 1979 in a small school in northern Vermont. My first Principalship took me to a small school with 110 students in the Town of Bridgewater, VT. I was there for 6 years and then moved to Windsor, VT, to the State Street School. This is a K - 6 with 390 students. In 2000, I moved back to the Burlington area and have been at Allen Brook ever since. Allen Brook School is Pre-K - 2 and we currently have 385 students. I graduated from UVM with a Masters in Administration in 1989 and I completed my undergraduate degree at the State University of Brockport just outside of Rochester, New York. I enjoy playing baseball and I am an avid golfer. I enjoy kayaking, snowshoeing, x-country skiing and summer time camping. I am vice chair of the RSB Administrators license board for the Northwest and I am newly elected Chair of the Northwest Reading Recovery Consortium.
