Welcome to the SCS PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)!
Shelburne really does have a COMMUNITY school, and each of you is a member of that community. Our PTO has several missions - the most important of which is to help build strong community connection between parents and the school. The PTO supports this through community building events such as the Holiday Fair, International Pot-luck Dinner, Teach/Staff Appreciation breakfast and luncheons, parent education events, and publishing the school directory.
We also support our school by leading a number of fundraisers throughout the year, 100% of which go directly to programs and improvements to our school. Last yer we raised over $30,000! These funds go towards grants to teachers and staff helping them offset the costs of field trips, classroom supplies and special activities. We also fund Visiting Artist programs, the Hands-on Nature science program and capital improvements to our school.
How Can You Get Involved?
Come To Our Meetings:
Be a voice for your child's team! Learn what's going on in our school and community, ask questions, make a difference. We offer Free Pizza and Babysitting at every meeting. Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month 6:00pm - 7:00pm.
Full schedule of meetings at bottom of page.
The PTO runs several fundraisers throughout the year - gift wrap, flowers, the jog-a-thon. But these are not for everybody. You can also make a tax deductible contribution to the SCS PTO at any time for any amount.
