I have been in the educational field for thirty years.  I live in a money pit - an 1838 Victorian house across from the school, in Williston, with my wife Joy Peterson, who also teachers at Williston.  I worked with juveniles in the Department of Corrections before joining the Williston staff in 1979.  I received my Masters in Education from UVM.  I enjoy running marathons, biking, traveling and gardening.
 
My responsibilities include: Outside placement, transitions for new students, budget, paraprofessionals, outside consultants, compliance with statutes, Essential Early Education, alternate placement, Extended Year Program, evaluation and supervision of special educators.
 
My current interests include: Universal Design to meet the needs of all students, attitudes about students with disabilities in schools, technology as a tool, Response to Instructioin, (RtI), early intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorders, programming for students at risk
