The Williston kindergarten teachers strive to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and feel a sense of belonging. We focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of our students. Our program is a full-day program and students have related arts in music, art, physical education and library. Some of our curriculum highlights include Responsive Classroom social skills instruction, Bridges Math Program, Fundations literacy instruction, Sound Circle literacy work, Writer's Workshop, and Guided Reading.
We work to meet the needs of all students by differentiating our instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. We value play, the arts, movement, music, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.
